The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially issued G.O.Ms.No.16, School Education (Ser.I) Department, dated 16 July 2026, granting administrative sanction for the implementation of the Thalliki Vandanam Scheme for the Academic Year 2026-27.
The scheme is one of the flagship initiatives of the Andhra Pradesh Government aimed at supporting school education by providing ₹15,000 per annum per child to eligible mothers or guardians, encouraging children to continue their education from Class I to Class XII (including Intermediate).
Objective of the Scheme
- The Thalliki Vandanam Scheme has been introduced to:
Improve school enrolment.
Reduce dropout rates.
Encourage regular attendance.
Strengthen the role of mothers in children’s education.
Promote inclusive and equitable education.
Support economically weaker families.

Financial Assistance
Under the scheme:
₹15,000 per child per year will be provided.

₹2,000 Deduction Explained
Out of ₹15,000,
₹2,000 per student will be deducted at source and utilized for:
School maintenance
Junior College maintenance
Hygiene
Sanitation
Educational infrastructure
School development activities
The remaining amount will be transferred to eligible beneficiaries as per Government guidelines.

Special Instructions
The Government has also clarified:
Students admitted under RTE Act Section 12(1)(c) will receive the balance amount after deducting the prescribed school fee.
Students receiving Central Government scholarships will continue receiving those benefits.
Additional admissions to Class I and Intermediate completed up to 25 August 2026 will also be considered.
Beneficiaries with invalid records will receive payment after verification.
