AP DSC 2008 & DSC 1998 MTS Teachers Counselling 2026 Guidelines Released: Key Instructions Issued by DSE

The Director of School Education (DSE), Andhra Pradesh, has issued important proceedings regarding the counselling for DSC 2008 and DSC 1998 Minimum Time Scale (MTS) Teachers for the academic year 2026-27. District Educational Officers have been instructed to complete the allotment process as per the prescribed guidelines.

Highlights of AP MTS Teachers Counselling 2026

Counselling will be conducted for DSC 2008 and DSC 1998 MTS teachers.

Vacancies will be identified based on Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) and student enrolment.

Posts that are not required as per PTR norms will not be displayed during counselling.

Vacant posts in schools with zero enrolment as on June 20, 2026, will be blocked.

DSC 2008 candidates will be given first preference, followed by DSC 1998 candidates.

A single-teacher school will not be relieved until a replacement teacher is allotted.

District Educational Officers have been directed to complete the entire counselling process by June 22, 2026.

Vacancy Identification Based on PTR

According to the proceedings, vacancies should be assessed based on the number of students enrolled and existing teacher positions. Posts that are not required under PTR norms should not be shown as clear vacancies during MTS counselling. Examples explaining these norms have been provided in the proceedings.

Priority for DSC 2008 Candidates

The School Education Department has clearly stated that DSC 2008 teachers will receive priority in the allotment of places, and thereafter DSC 1998 candidates will be considered.

Important Instructions

Counselling should be conducted transparently.

Seniority should be followed without any deviation.

District authorities must strictly adhere to the government instructions and complete the process within the stipulated time.
